I think you have to live with one, I've got attatched to it now so I've started appreciating those little touches that the willy should have had.

and most of the mk2 fellas will agree is 1000000000000000000% better as a 'normal' car, its just so much easier to live with - but its still a giggle when you want it to be.

fitting 10mm stiffer lowering springs which should help the slight roll when going muchly too fast and will drop it to a height I like.

These at that height are lower at the front than the williams was standard, I've nearly ripped that splitter off loads of times on things that were a breeze to get on/over in the willy!

i'm sure as a car they are fantastic, i just mean from a purely asthetic point of view. the mark 2 phase 1 has something about it, as does the 197, but the mk2 phase 2 just doesnt have the aggressiveness to it that kind of defines a sporty renault to me

they've gone same route with the new mk3 phase 2 200 renaultsport, bland styling.

I would say I prefer my 172 now over the Williams.

It took a long time but the changes I have made has led to me prefering it.

Better as an everyday car doesn't even cut it, it's alot better than that. Slowly with my changed seating position and wider track it has become alot more of the drivers car too.

What the Williams will always have though is it looks better.

I'd swap this car and a few quid tomorrow for a new 200 cup - I think it pisses over all for styling!

I was creaming all over one in the renault showroom a few weeks back.... and yes I prefer it to a mk1
