I wasnt launchihng at 9000rpm lmfao!
I was at full throttle yes, changing from 2nd to 3rd (not full throttle gear changing though). And it just went bang and sounded like a million bolts fell of the bottom of my car onto the road, im about to go and take it apart now :(
Slicks and LSD with hundreds of full bore standing starts put far more strain on the clutch so can not compare to an equivelant road car.Originally Posted by stan
Either way its lasted really well and would recommend one for pootling round town too.
8" Slicks, LSD, Dog-box, 230-odd-bhp=less than one season (probably 5 or 6 events).
Wouldnt be happy with that, i would send it back to Helix. Dogbox should help longegevity a bit as there is less chance off clutch slip (riding the clutch) between gears.Originally Posted by stan
All the people i know in fwd rallycars clutches last at least 2 season before a new plate is used even cars with way more hp and wider tyres and rwd so more load from a start.!!
Ouch, put me off too much hp...car would be in bits after every event..!
Stan, you forgot to mention you have one for sale.

How many FWD rally cars do you compete against with 230+bhp, 8" slicks?Originally Posted by Evogone
And comparing it to other rwd cars isnt necessarily fair, they often have larger diameter clutches.
Then again, i am talking about a class-winning car here, maybe not a fair comparison to yours...
