    Classic car insurance

Has anyone here got their williams on a classic car insurance policy?

Just wanted to get some feedback, i.e. how they compare to normal fully comp insurance policies:

    price
    cover
    limited milage?
    allow no claims?

    etc etc

also some names of companies would be good.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post. I want advice/feedback on classic car insurance. Not interested in what your normal policy costs.

Well they specialise in classic cars. Didn't realise there's a special bracket you have to ask for to make it official "classic car insurance", sorry.

The only information I can offer is when I used a classic car policy via firebond.co.uk

They based the NCB on number of years driving and did not need proof of normal no claims. They were very accomodating to mods and would provide an agreed value for the car. IIRC they did ask that I join some form of motoring group for a small fee but overall the cost was at the time very very cheap in comparison to usual insurer quotes.

Cant comment on claim experience as was lucky enough to avaid that component. With the current market showing weak car prices I would like to have an agreed value as my current insurer will only offer what they believe is market value.

Aye that price just sounds like "normal" insurance to me... If it were classic car insurance then it would be more like sub £200 I think...

What do you have to do to get it insured as a classic? Prove you go to shows etc? I only do about 2000 miles a year anyway.

    Not sure.

Just got off the phone to carol nash, the guy was quite rude tbh, and stated that they could do classic car insurance on "porsches, etc, not cheap little racing cars". Incidently they quoted me £500 admiral only charge me £250 atm! Waste of time imho.

Best quote so far is footman james through NIG quoting under £200.

got mine with hagerty insurance really cant fault them service excellent paid £145 agreed value (pics required) fully comp think on 3k a year think even breakdown cover in with that dont usually do NCB which suited me as you need to have the insured car as a second car otherwise u cant do insurance with them
at that price cheaper than my daily drive, my 106 1.5d

    any other questions just ask
