    happy chappy

    well ive just picked the williams up from the renault garage after getting a little bit of work done.ive just had new hydraulic lifters,timing belt kit,rocker cover gasket,2 end caps and 2 crank shaft seals replaced.the garage is a 40mile trip away from me and all i can say is the drive home was amazing.the car sounds,pulls and drives soooooooooo much better.im glad i decided to keep the car.fair enough im slightly out of pocket but im one happy chappy

    a whopping total of £470 and that was all in. :o
    i was quoted 8hours for the timing belt by one of my local garages so im very happy with the price i got at mr renault. :D

    i supplied the hydraulic lifters but the garage was semples of inverary.was really pleased with the customer service and the overall work done on the car. :D

    That is cheap for a renault dealer, good plan with providing the tappets, OE spec=££.

    I'd be over the moon at that too! If only all Reno dealers worked at same rates and they did the 'if u find it cheaper elsewhere...'

    What do hydraulic lifters do?

    First one to say 'lift things hydraulically' gets a bonio.

    keep your valve clearances correctly adjusted instead of having to re shim when out of tolerance

    i asked them to get me a price on the tappets.nice young lady phones me back and says"weve done you a realy good price on these mr todd.there only £25 each plus the vat"well once i finally figured out that there was 16 of them and realised they would be £400 i laughed and hung up.
