    I'd agree with 125 lbs.

    I'm guessing thats 125lbs/inch?

Trying to calculate the correct torsion bar thickness I want on the rear to work well with my H&R coilovers.

So far i know the H&R's have 60N/mm main springs with a 45N/mm helper spring.

So forgetting the helper spring they would be 342lbs/in front springs. Now I need to go and work out the torsional spring rate of the stanard rear beam and corner weight my car.

Not done this maths stuff for quite some time!!!

    yes thats 125lb/inch

iirc the KW kits also come with 340lb/in main springs too, i dont think theres a great deal of choice when it comes to the rear bars, reichhard motorsport(germany) used to supply some both torsion and arb bars in a few sizes, other then that might be looking at different renault models like r5 extra van etc etc

yeah rod can have them made to spec..

Yeah once I have the corner weights and dimensions I need I will calculate the torsion and anti roll bar sizes that I want and then see if Rod can get them machined up for me. Only thing that might be a problem is the material needs to be the same as the Renault items to compare like for like bar diameters.

not if you know the spring rates.. :D

Part of the calculation for the torsion bar equivalent spring rate looks into the young's modulus of the material. However if I know what spring rate I want from the torsion bar and I know the modulus of the material that Rod can use then I can work out the thickness required.
