How To Stop a Spinning Knob?

i dont have the gaitor on my gear stick anymore and all was fine for a while but now my knob has started spinning uncontrollably and does a full 360 when im grabbing for gears on track! how would you guys go about solving such an issue? i thought about glue but then it might stick the reverse gear skirt? how about if i pull it off and wrap some tape round it then force the knob back on?

    cheers for your thoughts!

well that actually makes no sense, if it didn't fall off how would I know how to stop it? Stop pretending to be clever, it doesn't suit you. Oh, dont bother posting your nonsense replies in this thread unless you have anything constructive and on topic to add... thanks.

high strenght thread locker is very good in my books for fixing gearknob :D. Be careful, glue only the gearknob, not the reverse-lock sleeve

anyhoo - after chopping the 172's knob off the other day to stick a brand new one on I certainly wouldn't be using mega hardcore glue!

Drop of tigerseal or some other silcone sealant would be my vote - if needs be you can remove it fairly easily - after all it needs to resist harsh gear changes but it doesn't need to be strong enough to resist a grown man stood on the front seats pulling for england like mine did!
