    thats on bog std renault item although filter bought bout 2 years ago (got 3 at the time as my renault spares man did me a deal)

    Is it a mann 75/2 or a mann 75/3?

    now theres a question will check, whats the differences, guessin that the /3 is the newer one ?

    for reference, the OE filter is 7700 274 177

    and it is a very short filter

    Thats a meaningless number as they apply the 'williams' number to whatever filter they decide to use at the time. You have to go on the manufacturers number to get the pore size. And yes the /2 is the old one with smaller pore size (and therefore better filtration) than the /3 which is the replacement.

    The new renault mann ones drop the pressure about 0.5 - 1 bar compared to the old renault mann ones. I phoned mann and they said the particulate filter size has changed.

    The main problem i found with most filters was that the oil pressure wouldnt rise as the revs rose. The old renault mann ones would rise upto 4-5 to 5 bar if you really hammered it. The new ones go to about 3 bar and just stay there at a constant oil pressure.

    Champion is not as good as the old renault mann ones, but its almost as good.

    I have no empiricle data as to how this effects the top of the engine in a real world setting, i can only guess.

    I have this exact problem.
    Pressure does not rise with revs after filter change.

    What is the part no. for the Champion filter?

    Its a racetech gauge not the renault one. Car is fine.

    The Pipercross ones on ebay are very good, the pressure rises well when hammering it, big improvement over the Renault one I had on before.
