Part number and price for williams gearnob

Can anyone give me the part number and price?

    Also for a valver gearnob?

Has anyone found a way to protect the lettering so they don't rub off? Can i lacquer it or something?

    Cheers

Dont know part number but I got one direct from Renault and it cost £25, just ask them to order you one, the numbers should last a few years as long as you dont wear rings to scratch them off.

I had a brand new one on for three years and it was as mint as the day it left its packet.

Just don't roll your hand over the top of it, rings will cause most damage to be honest, no need to laquer it.

How do you actually get the old one off and the new one on?? As my lettering has gone and would like to change it, but appears to be bonded on!
    Cheers

The end of the gear shaft has a gripper cut in to it so all you do is grab the nob and give it a good twist whilst pulling upwards and it pops off. Then do the same when fitting but push downwards
