    rear pads - help!!!!!!!

    is there any difference between early ph1 16v rear calipers/pads (90 - 92) and later models (92-96) 16v?

    EBC list pads for 90 - 92 as 106mm x 56mm x 11mm but also list pads for 92- 96 and williams and 172/182 as 105mm x 55mm x 11mm.

im not sure if there is any real difference, and short of taking out my rear pads im not sure how to tell. mine is an early 1992 on a J plate.

its wierd coz i thought the calipers were the same on all 16v's.

Will the 1mm difference in length/height make much of a difference, if any?

They're the same depth so should be fine that way.

I'd be tempted to get the slightly smaller ones as I can't see it making a difference, and if it does then at least if they're a bit smaller they'll be guaranteed to fit!

or if you get the lsrger ones filing off 1mm isn't really a hassle. if thye are too small they may fall out

right, in the end the mintex pads i bought were wrong, they fitted but didint have the 2 locating screw holes in the outer pads. i then bought some lucas pads and these were the same. in the end i went for delphi pads.

i have found the correct number for the lucas pads - gdb 905. std renault replacement item. hope this helps!

Lots of them don't seem to have the holes for the screws - I just binned them and the pads seem to be fine without :D

I thought the same the other day until I realised I had stupidly put the ones with the holes on the inner side and the ones with the locating lug on the outside...soon sorted that lol!
