What Cam's are best for fast road use?

    As title,
I dont want anything to peaky still want some mid range oomph and i'll need a chip to go with it (7200RPM limit)
I'll be using the car on the road for most of its life with a few track days thrown in. (cant afford the fuel on the Skyline on a track day )

theres a multitude of cam options tbh mate. stay away from kents tho.

as for map........id recommend wayne at chip wizards. getting an off the shelf item wont be best suited for ur engine, never mind the mods. best to go for a proper mapping session where its mapped exactly for ur car.

Catcams 5502225 and a remap by paul at RSTuning.
Ive sold/used many sets of these cams, they are a cracking profile for road/trck use when on std inlet/managment.

The cams are £585, vernier pulleys are £230

I think a Remap from Paul is around £500.

Oh thats a bit steep. My skyline had full re-map on APEXi power FC (ecu) for £400, that seem to be average for full re-map. It needed full map as it was fresh from Jap land and was set to run on 100 Ron fuel.
How come the cat cam's are so much more than others? Ok all iv heard is good guains from them they just seen a lil rich

Can the STD ecu have custom map's? Or does it need a mapable chip fitted to ecu?

i'll be selling a set of used piper 270 fast road cams within a month, will want £150 for them. i have used them for around 3 years now and have been absolutly faultless, offer a good spread of torque and bhp all across the rev range ( car is making 177bhp/139lb/ft and runs a 13.92 qtr mile ). you will need to sort pulleys/fitting/timing ( stan ) i may be able to supply a map for the cams aswell but will have to see what its like with the new setup....
