One way of spotting a genuine Williams is to check chassis number to see if it contains the letters C57M

No immediate way of telling I'm afraid - I think there was a post on here where a number of Willy 1 owners put up their chassis numbers to compare against their limited edition number and build date.

Mine is the highest RHD limited edition number I believe (0425) but my chassis number is lower than some other cars....

As other people say, there is not necessarily any logic to the numbering...

If you find a car, and you think it's suspect, post it's details up on here and I'm sure we will be able to tell if it's genuine or not... most UK cars are known on here... good luck in your search!!

Did the Williams 1's come with anything in their documentation that stated their series number? A certificate or anything like that?

    Thanks Guys!

Unless the number plates have been changed don't forger that pretty much all willys are reg dependant, L - 1, M - 2, N - 3...

Also shows up on v5 that its a williams 2 if you have a 2, I'm assuming its the same for the others...

Also if there is a gold plaque on a phase 2 then alarm bells should start ringing, as far as I'm aware all willy 1's were phase 1, williams 2 & 3 were phase 2.
