quoting from haynes for renault 19 :

BROWN CAP : 1.2 BARS (19 1.4 /1.7/ 1.8 8v )
BLUE CAP : 1.6 BARS (19 16v )

to my understanding hotter running engine
needs higher water pressure .
hence all 16v models are supposed to use the blue
however many williams owners here mentioed they
had brown caps on their cars .

i personally use blue caps on both my f7p ed cars
and never had problems .
but than i am here to supply only not judge
