    MISFIRE

On the rally car had loads of issues the last event with a misfire. Was quite random when it happened and was fine in the afternoon. Started the car a few times this week and it happens every so often.

You notice it as the revs rise to 1500rpm and then when to touch the throttle it misfires and sometimes stalls and then wont start for a minute. The fuel pump primes etc and have in line pressure guage and this is fine. It seems electrical as when testing with a timing light you can see the light stop when it misfires when you rev the engine.

Changed the TDC sensor and seemed ok but had a play with the loom pulling it and it stalled but started up straight away.

Im thinking coil or earth as there was no spark.....

    Any help welcome?????

checked the good old ECU for water seeping in?.... Earth's as you say could be a good one, are you running an uprated battery... redtop etc.. is it relocated? just check the wiring..... hows the coolant temp sensor?... and finally it could be the dreaded TPS
