    sill replacement.

I've bought me quite a nice looking white valver at a good price as a base for my project. The sills need replacing, this is the worst one, the other has been poorly patched.

I want to replace the sills on both sides. I have found these: http://www.everycarpart.co.uk/renaul...e-p-57101.html

So that's 2 unpainted sills delivered for just over £50, which is nice.

About fitting - these are welded on right?
How likely am to find shabby inner sills?
Anyone know of a rough quote for replacement of sills and painting them up provided the inner sills don't need work?

    Yes, welded (afaik)

    Very likely lol

Mine cost c. £400 for one side to be done...

I had a sill replaced when I had my respray, was a bit unexpected as the guy who done it reckoned the damage I done was repairable, but in reality it wasn't so he charged me an extra £150

I think the £400 price the guy said was probably for replacing the sill then prepping & painting the whole side of the car

    hope this helps

I've just been told that the standard sills are not the same as valver ones :(

A guy on cliosport reckons that a savvy pannel beater may be able to make them fit though.

    Thanks,
Can you give me an idea of what the swage line is?

What's the final word on fitting non-valver sills to a valver people? anyone know?

on the sill, where the bobbly stone chip finishes the panel kicks out and into plane body colour. Just below the door.

If it was me i would cut a good 1" down from that line when removing a rusty sill

check out gweebs project in the project section
