Found this which gives full detail of new tax rules on cars

But my question is this;

How do you know what CO2 a car falls into, with the new tax rules?

Is it diagnosed when the car goes for its MOT?

Ill be going to buy a new car within the next week and dont want to have shick of my life when I come to tax it, and it falls into category F for example!!

Any advice would help!

But I would have thought the emissions change over time?

Is there anywhere/a site that lists all models with CO2 emission rates?

have a look on parkers (reviews-tech info) and look at the car you are thinking of, it has the tax band info for each car on it.

By checking those dates and info, by buying a car registered before March 2006 then the top rate is only £210?

Only for cars reg post March 2006 is the hefty bracket applied?

Well, thats good news for me as I though by buying a Focus RS I was going to have to shell out £400 a year - happy days.

Thanks for that I shall now have a look at parkers.

I was out on my bike the other nite and a focus RS was behind me, he nailed it past from low revs, maybe 25mph, and Ive NEVER seen a car with as much torque steer in my life!

It looked cool as **** like! It had a right snake on!

Do they have traction control? Im sure that was the only thing that kept it pointing the right way!
