    +++ Strut brace question +++

    hi,

    i bought a strut brace from a valver on ebay

    and then i wanted to see how it would fit my williams. but i couldn't even slot it in place because there are some electrical bits etc right on both sides of the mounts. plus also there seems to be no fittings on the top mounts like there commonly are on other cars, just one bolt in the middle.

    so my question is have anyone fitted a strut brace on their williams. and if yes then which one do you have, where did you buy it, and how did you fit it?

    p.s. is there any point in having one??

    I've got the Clio Haynes Modifying guide - Even they said it will make very little difference unless you car is set up race car stiff.

    To fit it they lowered the MAP sensor and the Coil, then drilled some holes to bolt it into place.

    you can turn the coil pack upside down to give clearance for the strut brace. 2 bolts and its job done!!!!

    OK, cool. So its definite then - you have to drill to install one...

    If like you said the car doesn't really need one, and it will make hardly any difference, I think I'll pass on it for now.

    FOR SALE! STRUT BRACE, ANYONE?

    ive got the same in my valver but its red i think minse the new one and it comes wth a plate so u can lower the coilpack on the passenger side down and the strut bace should come with self tapping bolts i drilled the holes and then put the bolt through then fitted the coil back on.

    YEP, that looks exactly like mine. hm.. maybe i should keep it after all...

    How about adjustable strut braces (you know, the ones with the bolt on a side)? Are they any better? How do you know how to adjust them?
