    i think you need to boreaway some of the block to allow for the crank clearence.....

    however if you pull it off, let me know aws i have a spare 1.8 engine...

    yeah the block will need machining in order to take the crank and bearings, as there thicker in dia too.and the bores will need takin out a tad also

    Cheers all... yea a valver could be a distinct possibility!

    But i know ill miss the fact its not got the williams torque delivery... :(


    Machining's not a problem, just a question of finding the dimensions...

    which with the crank n bearings ul have.........and the bore is widely known as 82.7

    Cheers mate, bore'ing it out is the easy bit... its opening the bearing shell seats that i need to look at in more detail me thinks.

    The more and more i look at it i keep coming up in circles...

    1. Buy a mint 16v and retro-fit a tuned F7R = approx £5000

    2. Buy a high millage williams and restore = approx £4000-4500

    3. Try and buy my old williams back = £6000+ :D


    Insurance is going to be about £500 more over a valver too!



    Decisions decisions... all i want is an engine to toy with over the summer! :P

    True... but going from a totaly pristene williams to a erm..... not so mint one, ill always know what im missing out on...

    The truth is i do want another williams.... just begrude paying almost £2k to insure it!!
