    17poo faster than a Willy?

    The reason I ask is I was having some fun with a Mk1 17poo on the A38 this evening.... up to about 90mph there was nothing in it but above that he definately started gaining.....

    Would that indicate my car down on power or his being up? I noticed he had a phat exhaust when I pulled off.... mine has only just had a major overhaul service and has been running very sweetly....

    Any thoughts? Sorry for letting the side down..... :( :(

    erm work it out mate.

    williams = 150 bhp
    17 2 = 17 2 bhp

    if both are standard the 17 2 will always come out on top???? am i right?

    Power/weight ratio doesn't really matter at higher speeds, becomes more about power/torque/aerodynamics so i'd say its sounds about right.

    Well i currently have both and i would say my 172 ph2 definately feels faster probably corners aswell too but makes more fuss of corners than my williams does.

    Watch the willy v 197 on you tube that tif needle does.

    The 197 (newer than a 1-8-2/1-7-2) is 250KG heavier and more power. Average person weighs 70Kg on the light side, so thats lets say 4 people. You stick 4 people in a williams and see what that does to acceleration/peformance!!

    I would bet my life that a willy would outperform a 1-7-2/1-8-2???

    Im sure some physics nut could work that power to weight ratio against performance.

    I reckon a willy in a straight line from a standing start would do a 1-7-2/1-8-2 even a 197??
