I had a little battle with an Elise on sat, that was a silver one to, pulled of the roundabout onto the d/c behind him, from 40 to 100, right on his arse. He backed of at 100 though, he had the roof down though so must be quite windy at those speeds, but he nodded and stuck his thum up as i cruised past

i wouldnt have thought we would be able to keep up with cars like that. didnt realise that the elise was that slow. would have thought that it was low 6's to 60. mind u they have got shity engines in em dont they

whats the top speed on the elise, coz i gave 1 a go on the A46 and he seemed to ease off at 100 too, either that or his car just looses power as soon as he hit 100 coz i pulled away from him like he had his handbrake on :D

The Series One Elises only have 118bhp...I think. Run out of puff very quickly. Top speed about 125mph, but run out of go after about 90?

the original standard elise only had 118 bhp, and very similar performance to a lightly modded williams. The k series is a very good engine though and is easily tuned to around 160 which makes them pretty quick.

I have a mate with 170 horses and it's much quicker than my williams!

I doubt an almost standard Williams would be able to keep up with an Elise off the line and up to about 70. Weight wins over power for acceleration, power wins for top speed. I reckon somewhere around 80mph, the extra power in the Williams would see it right. :D

Yep, K-series is one of the best engines in the world

    Apart from the chocolate head-gaskets.

From my epxerience the original Elises were way too slow and once above 40-50mph would lose ground to a standard Willy.

Once they started upping the power though, there a completely different beast.
