No turbos :(
Could be fun. Why don't you guys get an official williams clio team together?
Matthew
Bear in mind, you need an MSA licence, which I think for racing you need to go on an ARDS test, also the car will have to comply with the MSA regulations ,which includes the fireproof overalls and an approved helmet.~~ that said it is the cheapest formula to race in
We already have some racers on here with track cars. Pick the best one, get a team of mechs etc that willing to enjoy doing it and you will work out pretty cheap. (Don't forget fuel and tyre costs though).
Fancy being a sponsor stan :D

I'd be up for some sort of motorsport team, but I think logistically it would be too difficult.
I have been looking... i will read again, mite be fun.. some highly tuned 1.6's and compete in the stock class... see if they allow engine swaps... put a mk2 1.6 16v engine in a valver.
Mite be fun!
My old friend i used to sail with used to race in formula renault is now a race driving instructor.
The licence costs approx £1000 to get and he said thats if you do a week intensive course.

^^A go racing pack from the MSA is £50. I did a course to get my licence at Brands hatch and it cost me £270 (for one day). Then on top of that you need to pay for a medical. Then you need to pay for your actual licence, about £50. So to get your licence isn't too expensive. It's all the safety equipment you need which really costs!!
Would cost you 14k a year. plus if you want to be up there at the front you gotta spend ££££
good laugh but not cheep. there are blokes that do it spending £50k+.
