An M series 520d? Which shape are you thinking of? I've got an E39 and its a great car. Can post up more likes/dislikes if that's the one you have in mind, but won't do so yet in case it is the E60 you are after - don't know anything about those I'm afraid!

I know it might not be too much help but my uncle got a 525d (iirc) a few months ago and he's been well pleased with his and said its an excellent car.

    LOL

That makes it an M car. Basically instead of soft suspension it has harder ones and M alloys.

    Buy a used 530D instead.

I'd go for the biggest engine model that you can afford to lease. They are great for space but the downside is that they are pretty heavy - my 540 only just about feels like the engine (4.4 litres) is up to the job, so not sure how the smaller engined models would fare.

Specs on the site recon the 520d will do 0-60 in 8.3 secs iirc, not too bad, not after anything massively fast, got the clio for that, also as the engine size goes up the mpg goes down, and i'll be doing about 20k a year

Been looking and think the 525d is the one to go for, the 520d is the proper base model, got **** all toys on it, they get you though, unless you want cream or black you need to pay an extra £600 for metallic paint
