    std williams exhaust

whats your thoughts? i made a straight through s/s exhaust which is a side exit for my williams track car, cams, verniers remap etc BUT seen sum threads from sum of you and reckon side exits lost power so whats your thoughts on a std factory exhaust wrapped all the way through with heat wrap???has anyone got any before/after rolling road print outs?

tbh I wouldn't be overly concerned about the exhaust, as regardless of what you do the only time you'll even notice a difference is when comparing a good system to a shit one. Spend your time and money looking at other part of the car to uprate fella, exhaust may gain you one or two bhp and a lot of money and aggro.

2 live runs a side exit and did back to back tests on a normal stainless system... no idea how good the systems were, but he did gain a little iirc.

So you think a trimmed down std one is ok?cos a mid section from a exhaust specialist is 26 quid and a s/s is like 250 quid!
plus ive gotta muck around with silencers with the trackday noise restrictions they have!

you need to do what performance truck enthusiasts do over here in the USA...

all the high power trucks are starting to be lmiited by 'smog' testing, which is basically similar to our Emissions tests, noise is also a growing issue... so they came up with an ingenius plan!

they fit an electriconically controlled valve in the downpipe before any of the cats or silencers.... when in position 1 its the usual normal exhaust and is as quiet as can be and emission friendly. They flick the switch and the valve closes to force the exhaust gases directly out of the downpipe!! haha you should hear the sound some of these monster Hemi's produce!

Sounds similar to what we fit to porsche"s is an electronic controlled valve and a switch on the dash board-flick the switch and sends it in to sport mode, opens exhaust valve, stiffens the suspention and send the ecu in to another preset map!!
