    Nurburgring 2008 trip

Right everyone, myself - Bayliss and Coops are going to the ring and have decided to open this up to WC if anyone would like to go.

we have already booked and these dates are confirmed.

Depart the UK - monday 28th july
Return to UK - monday 4th august

we have booked the ferrys with Norfolkline and from Dover to Dunkerque, these are the times we have booked.

Depart: DOVER to DUNKERQUE 28/07/08 08:00
Return: DUNKERQUE to DOVER 04/08/08 18:01

we are required to be at the ports about 1hr before to book in/passport control etc

We are staying at the Sliders guest house which is a nice friendly english speaking guest house which we used last year,

we will be stopping there for 7 nights, from monday night to sunday night, then heading back for the return ferry monday 4th

the ring will be open everyday that week from 17.15 to 19.30
and 8.00 to 19.30 for saturday/sunday, you will most likely get more laps in the week as it tends be alot quieter!

the links for the ferry and hotel are as follows

    www.norfolkline.com
    www.slidersguesthouse.com

if you do want to go you will have to arrange everything yourself, but you dont have to use the same ferrys/hotel or go at the same times/days or even do everything we do, its your holiday so down to you to decide!

id also advise you to book early as you may struggle to get a hotel or ferry etc

    general costs....
    ferry - £48
    hotel 7 nights - £162
fuel - depends on your car and how far your travelling from..
    4lap ticket - was 64euro, beleive now 70euro

other things to think about is european insurence/recovery, spending money/passport, car condition etc etc

if you require anymore details just ask myself/bayliss or coops and we will try to help, there is plenty of websites with details of thing you may/will need and other costs

btw it doesnt matter what car you want to use, we are using our mk1's but i took my 182 last year/mark took v6 etc and we are more then happy to meet ppl and convoy down to the ring

what sort of travelling in mileage is there going to be?

too and from hotel and ring
    from dunkerque to the hotel

    i live 5mins from dover :D
(i'd offer to put people up the night before travelling but i shall be back home with the parents by then saving!!! But can supply tea/coffee tools and workspace for anyone needing to tinker before the onward journey.

my willy should be ready or the missus has her 182. i may get her to book this for my 21st which is in a couple of weeks?

waits for her to get home and tell her egypt isnt on the menu this year .....

too and from hotel/ring is 22km about 13miles
too and from dunkerque/hotel is 425km about 264miles

the drive from hotel to ring is good anyway, we found a really good route aswel, adds a few miles but worth it! :D

yeah it could just be me in the Cup or if I can convince Stu to come, we will go in the Williams, providing someone fancies giving us a hand sorting out the gearbox hint hint ;)
