lol.danny in relation to the engine...if u take the little black cover off the end of the gearbox(more or less under the battery tray when in car) this is what u see........well it should have cogs in there with teeth lol
if u look at the top pic i think ul see the real reason this happened..............theres a bit of a roller bearing there, which to me says that the roller has probs exploded n threw a few of the pins int between the cogs for 5th gear....which is the gears visible lol.......think the teeth strippin off is the reason it went bang and locked up lol
i think im gunna rip this one apart and experiment with rebuiding em, also see if theres any other damage lol....cos i think the diffs fukt too
least the synchros alrite .nearly lol.....the brass bit

My old driving instructor's mantra was "use your ears to change gears". Listen for the revs, or I get a bollocking from him if I get it wrong. I guess they must teach differently there
Or maybe 2live is trained to listen for different noises like crunches, screeches and screaming passengers

lol......no mate i just drive it as it was intended to be driven...lets face it..if reno wanted u to drive their top of the range clio at 30mph.....they wudda put an 850 engine in and limited it lol
believe it or not.this hapened at about 30 mph......never stopped so quick lol
