i've just bought a 106 1.5 diesel for the same reason, saving up for a weekend car/toy etc, cost me £590 for an r reg, full mot, cheap as **** to run, tax,insur, best bit is i couldn't give a **** if someone scratches it/dents it on a car park etc, and i get to leave it on pub car parks for the weekend without worrying about it :D

Thats what I thinking they get industrial MPG (60ish). Plus easy to buy/sell and get parts. Although I kinda like Volvo 460's- only because they have heated seats!!!

Thats the same, if anything the more bumps, dents, scratches and missing hubcups will add character

I second that my bro has one and its done ok 230k!! Also got us up to Scotland on £30! I would'nt have even got up to Birmingham on that in my willy.
