    Fitting a bonnet with pins

Any suggestions or tips or tricks to get the bonnet spot on in the right place first time?

this is how we did gaz's.

Positioned the pin first, then made a hole in the bonnet for the pin, using the template marked the hole and cut it out.

If it was me i would fit the pin and then lower the bonnet - where the pin marks the paint use that as a guide and work from there.

northy - where is that pin bolted onto?

ive put some protruding (yes i know they arent legal ) type pins on the front of my bonnet at the weekend, but wanted to put another 2 towards the back but couldnt see alot to mount them on

at the min im using 2 pins at the front and the standard catch at the back, that will be ok wont it?

They'll be mounted into the edge of the wing.

What do you mean by protruding type pins not being legal?? Your traditional type of pins?

    yeh traditional type pins

i heard they arent legal as they can hurt pedestrians if you run one over and they roll up the bonnet, pedestrians spoil all the fun!

there illegal on kit cars when you have to get them (type approved?) but as a modification after a car is declared a car i believe them to be fine and not tested for on the MOT
