    K-tec carbon fibre bonnet

I've owned this bonnet for a long time.. after finishing my engine change i took the car on the way to southend to meet Jay-s, on the way there i found a 2.0 nova and was playing with it, at a 3 figure speed the bonnet snapped off the hinge and went for a flying lesson, it had ripped off the bolts from the mounting points, the latch was left on the car and is bent where the bonnet ripped off.

The bonnet its-self had hit the top off a lamp post and fell into the central reservation off the motor way top side down, i picked it up later that evening at 2am and it isnt to bad just battle scarred.

I advise anyone who is considering buying one of these bonnets to pin it down at the very front and at the back so it cant be forced off.

Even for more expensive cars, a lot of carbon bonnets don't seem to be made to a very good lasting standard :(

Funny really, I always thought that bonnets of this style wouldn't flip like that. On regular bonnets they normally flip back and smash the sunroof or bend the roof when they go :(

Maxi.. how were you going to fit yours, purely with bonnet pins? Might I suggest the other type of bonnet pin, the plastic ones with locks that are recessed Should hold it firmer and look smarter if done right

might do mate but was just going to bolt it on as a normal bonnet. might look as recessed pins.

    cheers mate.

Believe they are called Aerocatch. (I only chose that link as it shows the different mounting options).

Ok, expensive... but that is just one source and more versatile mounting than regular pins.
