Hi my clutch cable snapped last nite as i was changing into 5th, i thought the pedal had snapped with the cracking noise it made.
Ive managed to get a new 1 for £15 but was wondering how easy is it to fit? and how long should it take to change?

the first thing you shall do is to take that
15 quid cable back and get a genuine renault one
Im going to get a genuine 1 at the weekend, but i needed to move my car today and it was the only place that had a cable, and aint driving with no clutch as had to drive a mile when it went and made a nice grinding noise so would rather use a cheap cable for now till i can get to Renault lolOriginally Posted by schakal

never actually replaced a clutch cable myself (my cables dont tend to snap for some reason :P )
but from people ,i heard it might be a right bitch to
get it right . i am sure someone will confirm soon
hi mate easy to do if a little fiddly. no tools needed just little hands. unhook for pedal if still attached try a piece of sting and remove then tie new end and feed back in. hook on pedal. then feed it down and behind the steering rack then across and across the chassis leg and hook around the gearbox end
have a look in guides section, i have written a guide on how to do it. its very straight forward and easy, just a bit fiddly trying to push the lug thru the bulkhead and hook the cable over the pedal.
thanks, just what i was looking for, oh and i have very small hands, which is handy!!!
I NEED to get a backup clutch cable just incase my one breaks. Why do they always break at the start of a busy week? Never on a quiet one
