    Jacking and Driveshafts

My drivers side shaft is currently out so i could drop the turbo out the bottom of the bay. thing is i want to work on other parts of the suspension and am not comfortable with using a poxy jack to get the entire car up on stands to work on the rear beam.

so question is can i safely drop it back down on wheels at the front without the shaft in and then jack up the other side at the front to tinker with spigots that side, then drop it again and jack up the back?

only i heard somewhere that wheels bearings can suffer badly/collapse as a result of maneuvering cars without the shafts in place? or does jackin it up n down not count?

any advice much appreciated as am far too lazy to be poppin the shaft back in if i can avoid it!

    cheers
