    quick question, anyone help???

right i may be going to look at a car to purchase but it will probably have no tax or mot and i wont be insured... if i was to get it and then inform the RAC that ive broken down would they come out and tow me back??? would they check to see if the car was taxed/mot'd ,cos i think they will be able to tell that its been of the road for a few years.... is there anything i could do to make the car undriveable for when they turn up??

If you wanted to make the car undrivable, just remove the fuel pump fuse. Or the fuel pump live wire on the pump.
    There easy ones to do.

When the fuel pump relay in my mates Cavalier went, the bloke that came out to him (cant remember if it was RAC or AA) was smart enough to short out the relay and get the car started and sent him on his way - basically, if they can get the car going, you're driving home

you will need to do more than just remove the fuse i think as thats normally the first thing i would check.

    I;m betting on a Mk 1 fiesta

Paul can you not just insure it on day insure and book it in for an MOT- that way u will be covered. You actually need to take it for the MOT do you??
