    Polishing & Porting

    Of head and inlet manifold...

Best method??? Hire someone or DIY?

How do you actually go about polishing and porting a head and inlet manifold? Is it better to get someone to machine it or just use a dremmel or similar tool? And im sure polishing doesnt mean, get out the mr.sheen........(ohhhh, im a poet and i didnt know it)

no point on the inlet. not a diy job takes lots of skill and experiance and a flow bench. ask stan ben r or port formance.

porting is solid and gas flowing properly as said you need experience

could have a go at head, just remove the imperfections in the alloy casting but for real noticable gains a pro job is your best bet, then add some cams and sprinkle with a little jenvey

should match the inle to the head really, dont see the point in NOT doing it if your spending hours working a head.

It really is down to experience and knowing what works. you would be better off having a machine shop (a decent one) re-cutting the seats to a different profile...this is where the majority of flow gains is achieved on any head. maybe even have the valves back cut and blended.

The second hardest part is the tooling required. a dremmel just doesnt cut it (no pun intended ). You need a few different grinders and different burrs, and different grades of sand rolls as a minimum.

Not if you mark it up. Theres acually very little variation on these manifolds/heads.
