    How quick are Alfa 147s?

And what engine flavours do they come in? Had one tailing me and it seemed not to have the throttle response (ie: grunt) keeping up in traffic. And only managed to pull up when the road opened up (and I did not want to break the speed limit by much). May be it's just an inexperienced driver. Would have thought a closer match with all the engine revs he was doing.

Couldn't really tell. The bodykit could have been bought after market. I am guessing it could be a 2L or even a 1.6L as I was keeping mostly below 4.5k rpm. For his sake, I really hope it was not the GTA (is that 3 litre?).

The GTA has something like 250bhp and the 2.0-litre twin spark only has 150bhp, so there's quite a difference. I guess it would be the twin spark, and he only came passed you because you started backing off?

Mind you, it was a cool and damp evening - the perfect conditions for the F7R and I was enjoying the gruntier 3k to 4k band.

Don't you hate it when you just slayed something which may or may not have been a body-kitted lower model with a bad snorting exhaust (esp. Mit Lancers with EVO bodykit) :D

Yeah, backed off as I was a teensy-weensy bit beyond the limit. He didn't pass me, traffic on the sides boxed him in. But he was inches off my rear.

Wouldn't the 3.2L be a bit a of a fatty sitting at the front of a wheel-barrow? And the electronic TC effectively reducing the 250 bhp by half whenever you really want to use it. Never been a big fan of active gizmos on a car.

apparently the GTA does like to understeer a bit but i for one wouldnt mind that too much, that engine is just lush and they look very very nice indeed, especially in the Pearlesent White they did them in

I'm pretty sure the GTA is still a quick beast even carrying a bit of weight. Who knows!
