Right sorry for sounding a little dense but if i put the 16v engine in, keeping my PH3 RSi main loom and using a 16v engine loom...

I could just plug a ph1 16v ECU and jobs a good en?
Yes thats right - you only need to swap the engine looms.

Out of interest, why you swapping for a 16v?

There isn't much of a performance gain to be had over the RSI to warrant doing it IMO.

Better off waiting for a willy lump or sticking a 2ltr 8v BE on.

not in all cases, the dash looms vary as stan says in this thread

    http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/forum/...ic.php?t=17870

you "might be able to just plug the 16v engine loom into the RSi car loom and it'll work, then again it might not work and might need a few wires swapping over.

That thread was about a 1.4 main loom wheras the RSI engine is the same series as a 16v.

I'd put money on it working first time.

That would be nice, but knowing my luck it wouldnt work at all haha!

What gearbox would you reccomend using a 16v box or the rsi?

The rsi has shorter ratios so this means when crusing at 70mph it would be revving higher than a 16v gearbox?
