    16v engine into MK1 PH3 RSi..

I know threads similear to this have been covered a thousand times but anyway... here we go again

I am looking into fitting a 16v lump into my RSi but theres just a few things i am not 100% sure on!

Can i use my RSi driveshafts?

Is the RSi radioator ok to use?

Will i need to get a 16v exhaust mani heat shield?

Will the ecu just be plug an play, or will there be imobiliser issues?

And any advice on anything ive missed out would be great!

    Cheers guys

I am 99% sure i can, but ill ask anyway...

Can i fit my RSi gearbox on a 16v? and which flywheel would be best to use RSi or 16v?

Also what kind of ratios would i be getting using an RSi box on a 16v with a standard limiter?

Yes, Rsi driveshafts, will need 16v rad unless you can make the pipework fit.

Get a phase 1 loom and ECU and it will be plug and play to an extent, you'll need to modify the car loom to co-ordinate with the 16v engine loom (easiest thing to do would be to fit a 16v dash loom and fuseboard etc.

    Yes the box should fit

    16v flywheel

Ratios would just be normal RSi ratios. No idea what speeds it will do at 7200 RPM etc tho

I will have the 16v engine loom if that helps?

I thought it was just a case of swapping the engine loom over?

also my car already has the oil pressure sensors as standard (PH3's have them already)

He means a phase 1 ECU has no immobiliser so nothing to worry about wiring wise.

Right sorry for sounding a little dense but if i put the 16v engine in, keeping my PH3 RSi main loom and using a 16v engine loom...

I could just plug a ph1 16v ECU and jobs a good en?
