i think he means 1500 for a rebuilt engine but with no external accessories. such as starter alternator manifolds etc.

i had a hill power rebuilt lump in L765 GYW and that came to £3500 with recon valver box from ren (£3000 for engine £500 for box) and that engine still ran sweet when martin sold it,fair enough i did blow 2nd gear synco out,but that was after 30k of VERY hard miles and 0000s of runs up pod
