Harsh juddering when going over bumps?

Say im going round a corner in a lane quite quickly, and the road is quite bumpy, the car judders so badly its hard to hold the steering wheel, I have to come off the gas cause I think its going to fall apart :S

Im sure it hasn't always done this, could it be a busted shock?
