As said if its the willy head (larger inlet valves) or the meg head(larger again) there isnt really a need for larger valves to make good power. A large valve f7p head generally would be re-seated to suit the aforementioned valves,
When i inquired with ben about putting larger valves in my f7r head he said he would only really go for megane ones otherwise its a lot of work for custom (larger still) valves per seat meaning a lot of cash!!
Anyway back on topic dont know a lot about bb tuning but have heard good things about all of the others mentioned (apd, angelworks, hill power and portformance)
how much extra as a matched inlet?Originally Posted by northy
Daz, lets face it, your never gonna go for it, you've been enquiring about stuff since man began
Ahem.... Cnut
Honestly no i'm doing it but I like to know in advance what I'm looking at cost wise - mind you i might be out of a job next week so everythings on bloody hold for now
no gain too be had on the f7 engines as far as i,m aware.Originally Posted by Daz.
buy a ported and polished throttle body off ebay 50 bhp to be had.
LOL

Well headwork/cams etc is only going to get you max of 160/170 bhp out of a 1.8...if you think paying 1k+ for a 20bhp increase or therabouts then fair enough!Originally Posted by Lee Keefy
but what if you dont want to yank your f7p engine out for example if its a strong low mileage reliable unit to put a 7r engine in,some people dont want to go to the expense of this conversion and sometimes the hassle of buying a problematic lump (it happens!!!) which lets face it with the cost of the lump and fitting is gonna be near on 1k or above to start with for 150bhp!!!Originally Posted by u33db
it gets on my nerves that as soon as someone mentions tuning a valver the first response is f7r biased even if thats not relevant,i'm not sayin in any way that thats not a better option but sometimes the pro's outweigh the cons as i've said above
