Have raced against this car many times. I'll see if I can dig out some times for comparison. I was running in standard class in my 405 Mi16 or the Clio so would have been slower, for sure, although I think he ran it in standard class originally.
I've bought, blown up or sold about half a dozen XU9 Mi16 engines over the years and they go for £250-£300 all day long (for 205 GTI transplants), so the current bid is quite a discount to the value in bits alone!
Nothing like a hybrid worth buying and taking to a trakday as a sleeper
It appears I was wrong! We were both at a North Weald sprint in October 2002. The Visa was in modified production class D10 with the 1905 engine, but may have had more improvements made since? In practice I ran a best of 1:12.41 vs. the Visa's 1:14.03 but mucked up my timed runs due to a close duel in standard production with my friend Simon! I got a best competitive run of 1:14.27 vs. the Visa's 1:21.68. I remember the day well as it was the only time Simon pipped me to the standard production class win, but the funny thing was if either one of us had entered in the modified class our times would have been quick enough to win that as well!Originally Posted by stevie_b
