***Mongoose Full System / Mongoose Cat Replacement Pipe

Im going to pick my full mongoose system up tomorrow.

Can't wait, had a standard 16v system on for nearly 3 years, since I bought the thing! Can you believe that!

Now, my question is, I can have a mongoose cat replacement pipe for £30, is this about the right price and are they ok?

And do we think I'll notice a increase in torque/power or will it be unoticable?

    Cheers Guys
    Leigh

Right picked my mongoose exhaust up today with de cat pipe, £200 all in brand new, what a bargain!

Bought it off ebay from racetechexhausts, great service by them.

One of the link pipes has a slight mark on it so they couldnt sell it as new hence the cheap price.

I'll get it fitted this week, just hope it isn't ridiculously loud and doesn't sound like a nova SR!

    Cheers

it does sound too loud when you first start her up.

    its too loud on motorways.

you get used to it, and in all honesty the performance more than makes up for the slightly excessive noise.

Good stuff, well picking it up in an hour.

I hope I do notice a difference in power.

I couldnt be arsed doin it myself. Its only costing £25 to have it fitted, plus I dont do crawling under cars, even when theyre on axle stands!

Will fill you in. Might even try and do a video this weekend!

Right, Ive picked it up and I can say is **** me!

I wasn't keen for the first half an hour, i thought it was too noisey!

But my views have changed after driving round in it today.

Im not exargerating but the increase in power is way more than I was expecting!

It goes like shit off a shovel, there i such a massive difference in torque, and I wasnt expecting this much increase, no way. It pulls so much harder and pulls from lower down the range too, a lot lower.

I didnt realise how much a cat restricts the performance on your car, it really does.

Ive now got power fever! Williams engine next, which ive been planning for a while and a trip to stan the man i think within the next 12 months.

There was one on ebay last week, but i was away in denmark, and it went for a ridiculous £328.00, typical.

There's one on now but he's reduced it to £500 which is too expensive for me.

Ive always loved the sound of escort rs turbos with full systems, and my valver sounds almost identical to one now in my opinion, with that turbo like build up of gases sound. Ive lost the pure ik rumble now, but you can still here it, and the whistle is still there!

In a nutshell im well cuhffed! :o

i had my mot in november, and have waited till i got some odds and ends sorted and one of those was refitting the decat.

the guy drove it out of the garage when i turned up. i had just driven a non pas rover metro. (courtesy car).

it rocks. its like a new car.

ps if your going to buy a williams, drive a rover metro before hand. you just dont realise how good a car it is!
