    New Springs

I've just had new springs fitted, as both had snapped (about 30mm off the bottom of both sides). The problem is, it now has a ride height an SUV would be proud of.

Has anybody else had new springs fitted and suffered with this? If so, is it just becaue they need to bed-in and will lower in time? And does anyone know how long it will take roughly, if this is the case, as it's rather embarassing driving around as it is

I saw the springs before they went in, and they didn't have the white mark, which I thought they're supposed to have? They cost £60 for the pair. Have I even got the right springs in there?

    Help please! :(

I had two new original springs on the front of mine and the ride height didn't appear to change, well not that I noticed anway.

£60 for the pair sounds too cheap for them to be the right springs, they should be £70 each.

They are £80 each for the williams springs...

Im guessing they are not genuine.

You will of course be at a higher ride height and they will take a little while to bed in, shouldn't be to long though no more than 200 miles or so i would say.

give it a while if ure not happy go back to um i guess.

60quid for the pair... definately not the genuine springs then mate... they should be painted black with two white paint marks on them... each spring will also have a renault paper label tag thing stuck to them with part number and manufacture information on it... all in french of course.

    Cheers for your help guys.

The guy fitting reckons my car may have been lowered before, but I reckon otherwise. Ride height was 300mm from arch to wheel centre and now it's 345mm.

He's going to contact the suppliers and see what they say, but I can guess the response!

I've just been quoted £89 plus VAT each, for genuine ones from Renault. Fookin' 'ell

Changing springs, how hard can it be.

Mark Ritchspeed does custom springs alot cheaper to any setting.

Ask him to make some to the same tolerance as the oringinal reno ones. Et voila. Probably save you £100
