    Arches etc

We've nearly all suffered this fate bubbling paintwork on the arches, now mine is just starting to go on the drivers side just above the sill, does anyone know of a quality guide to treating this before it gets any worse whilst i get the required amount of money together for the paint job, baring the paint is it diy'able?

    Ty in advance.Kat.

You can try taking a wire brush on an angle grinder to it, dowen to the bare metal, put rust treatment on it and then respray it.

The ONLY way it will go for good is to cut the rusty bits out and have new bits welded in in place of, no matter how weell its treated it will come back eventually.

To try to prevent it clean all teh mud off thats sits ont eh lip under the arch, thats the cause of it, you need to get your fingers up there and scrape it all off

I use this on a rust area on the radiator.

Quite amazing stuff. 9 years on, the rust area still looks the same (with annual re-application). Not sure if it is available in UK but they have an online store.
