dont you just hate going for job interviews?

I went for one on Friday "it was near enough mine" according to the agency!!!

Got a call saying they wanted someone with more experience LOL. They didnt even ask me any technical questions to see what my knowledge was like i have 6 qualifications in IT and been working in the industry for 5 years. What a waste of time

At the end of the day its all about fitting into a workplace and not so much about the talent or experience you have.
The agency failed you because they should have clinched the deal.

Chin up there fella and look at it as interview experience.Ive been there and bought the bullshit aswell,on many occasion.

Good luck on the job search

Thats bullshit, sorry to be so blunt but im a recruitment consultant and it is NOT the agencies responsibility to sell a candidate to a client AFTER the interview.

The consultants job is to sell the candidate to the client before an interview then once the client is interested its between the candidate and client. If it isnt who the client wants there is nothing an agency can do....

    True dat!!!!

LOL- agencies cant exactly say how suitable you are if you balls it up at the interview.

Although, personally I hate interviews myself as for my sort of job I generally have to go to 2/3 interviews an 9 times out of 10 I have to give presentations. Although I have got better over the years. These things just come with experience. Be yoursalf an if your not right for the job its not best for you anyways.

At my last job interview, my old boss used to have a williams 3, so I had a great talking point an common interest in hot hatches with him. Later found out he also owned a 205 GTi also. LOL

    I tend to disagree.
The agency sells candidates.they dont give a fook about your career or your actual worth.

If they(agencies) secure an interview and a candidate has been successful at obtaining a second interview(or so he's led to believe) it is the recruitment agency that follows up and communicates how things went.

In my opinion if agencies which to place people then they should follow through right to the end and give the candiate a VALID reason as to why they have been unsuccessful.

I dont mean to put a downer on the subject however there are a lot of recruitment agencies(agents)whatever you want to call them) out there who are pure and utter cunts!

Not to make a quick quid. Specialist agencies are the ones who look after you, high street shit ones like pertemps are in it for the cash

If they(agencies) secure an interview and a candidate has been successful at obtaining a second interview(or so he's led to believe) it is the recruitment agency that follows up and communicates how things went. - true, but an agency cannot MAKE a client want to 2nd interview you. Even if the int went real well, maybe the client told u he will be in touch for u to come in again as he didnt want no uncomfortableness. If the agency didnt give YOU a valid reason [which imo not enough experience is pretty valid] then thats that agencies fault, so slagging off everyother agency in the UK isnt right.

In my opinion if agencies which to place people then they should follow through right to the end and give the candiate a VALID reason as to why they have been unsuccessful. - agencies do do that, again, you must of joined a shitty agency

I dont mean to put a downer on the subject however there are a lot of recruitment agencies(agents)whatever you want to call them) out there who are pure and utter c**ts! - maybe so, but not ALL consultants are cunts so maybe you should think about joining another agency?

Your right I have had bad experiences with agencies.
Been an IT contractor for 10 years now and been around quite a fair bit.

I suppose for a contractor they (agencies) treat you a little different than if you were going for perm jobs.

I dont mean any offence its just some people are really really bad at it.at the end of the day you send your CV off to a complete stranger with all your personal details on them and sometimes they show very little tact or delicacy when dealing with a job refusal.

    anyways rant over
