good plan, stick a mk1 off the road, and it will break break and break even more. mine cert has. was almost trouble free as an everyday car, but now its being a little bitch. (i still love her tho!). cars love to be driven everyday, espesh older ones.

and why buy a 172 FF for an everyday car

cup would be the clever choice, or sensible choice would be any new diesel car. plenty torque, and true work-horses, and mpg is amazing!

I brought a 172 because I have always liked the look of them and decided now was the right time to get it. I didn’t get a cup for 2 reasons:

    1. I didn’t buy the car to go fast round corners or any of that bull shizzle, I brought it to get me to work & appointments
    2. As I wanted to buy it from Renault, they didn’t have any cups on the forecourt, they only had 1 172 in, which had to be sent over to Tamworth for me to see it. I saw it/ I brought it.

i loved my 172, and everyone who raced it on drags or went in it on track said it was a quick one. it would easily pull to the limiter in 5th.

Zollo saw it on track at haynes

    gawd i miss it...

Very nice 172, i must be the opposite to everyone on here, i dont understand why you would want the cup over the ff. Would rather have more electrical goodies than slightly more speed round a track, just imo.
