    is my box dying ?

for the last 2-3 months ive had a whirring sound coming from what sounds like the front left wheel, it only starts above 40. i thought this might be the wheel bearing but had new ones put in 6 months ago. the reason i suspect the gearbox is because say im driving along at 50 and dip the clutch the noise dissapers striaght away, lift the clutch and the noise comes right back. is this some sort of bearing in the box thats ****ed or diff maybe? it makes the noise in all gears. its a valver box which has done roughly 100k.

Mine has whined for ages in 2nd gear, never had a problem, if anything does go wrong tho ask Rod on here, he knows a guy who rebuilds gearboxes for a decent price
