    Engine Numbers...

    Today im off to the dvla to sort out the change over in details on my clio such as, the engine size and that and to sort out 1.8 16v tax, but on the on the V5, it says engine number, which obviously have to change, but just need to know, will it be a standard engine number for all 1.8 16v engines, or am i going to have to find out the specific one for my engine cos i dont know it...

    Any help wud be much appreciated

    The V5 contains the unique engine code as well as the VIN, so more than likely they will want to know that to put on the database. It's stamped onto a little plate rivetted to the right hand side of the block, in case you weren't sure where to look for it?

    You need the serial number for your engine.

    Easy to sort the DVLA out just fill in your V% with the new info and send it off.

    For reference, The 1.8 "Valver " engine numbers start C57D and the "Williams" numbers C57M,or at least the ones I have got do

    Mine didnt start with C57D, it was F7P........

    That's correct.
    C57M and C57D refers to the VIN/Chassis type.
