    starter motor location 1.8 16v clio

    as above, need to get at it to give it a wack, as its looking like its seized. Whats the best way to get at it? thanks

    its at the back of the engine under the manifold! have fun lol

    ong bar, from above and remvoe tyhe heat sheild overt the top of it first, its not in a wack friendly location

    thanks lunner, so is it prety much directly under the exhaust manifold? cos i can see a kind of shield there covering something, but obviously i cant see what its covering

    shield is about 6" square, bolts onto manifold/downpipe, gearbox bell housing and the back of the engine block

    Or you can flick the ignition between turns 2/3 that normally works, bit tricky to get it right because if you turn the key 2 far back after trying to start it, you have turn it all the way to 1 and start again... you wanna try n start it then when it doesnt start (normally just clicks when the starter solenoid sticks) just edge the key back a little bit so not quite back to turn 2, then turn it again, if you do that quick enough it normally unsticks it pretty fast ;)
