    Fitting a genuine gearknob...properly.

How the hell do you fit these properly.

I've whacked and banged it as hard as I can it's stuck like half way.

The old one came off a piece of piss but can't get this new one on properly for love nor money

    Help!

    Cheers.

Did both parts come off when you removed the old one?

The knob normally comes off in 2 bits, the foam bit you hold and the plastic bit that sticks on the gearstick.
You should be trying to fit your new one onto a knurled bit at the top of the gearstick.

Ah right yer, I know what you mean.

yeh I'm trying to fit it, but the middle of the knob is flat sides and the stick has a ridge around at which I assume cuts into the knob slightly to hold it in...this is where I'm getting stuck :(

Nothing to take pics of really lol.

Basicaly you have the plastic bit with the numbers (1,2,3,4,5 and R) which is stuck on because the knob is new.

Am I meant to remvoe that or soemthing?

Old knob fell off. This one is old as fook.

    Cheers.

yeah but finch no one is sure what your on about! As usual you make no sense.

You just push the new knob the metal gearstick shaft.

Unless the old plastic is still stuck ont he shaft.

Which is why you were asked for a picture

Twist an yank old one of it should come off pretty easy.

Dob some superglue in the bottom of the new gearnob, twist it one so its fitting straight. Leave for a few hours to dry.

How hard can it be to get a gearnob off lol.
