Why, have you changed it? It's ridiculous. Why should have to ask a mod's permission to edit my own post?

i have changed it for one reason and this reason is as follows.

    Picture the following.

When a mod or myself isnt online and we spot a topic that has gone off on one and become a slanging match between two members.

We view this topic to find that certain posts have been edited to remove there posts. its happend a few times this month alone!

As a mod We cannot then see what was originally written. So how do we make a judjment ?

so by having no edit button - if people post that is unfit for the forum they cannot edit it to remove it later when they have had time to think about it.

there's a preview button, it's not really a big deal, it takes 5 seconds to read over your post before you submit it, which is surely less time consuming than noticing it at a later date and having to go back in and edit it? plus as Northy quite rightly points out, it's open to abuse and has been abused, so I'm afraid it had to go.

i can see why its done, but im not a fan of it.

imo its not often we get big arguments and people being arseholes, so it shouldnt matter too much!

I'm happy not to have mine, and agree with it.

But I can see why people want it back.

If it does come back, I dont want mine putting back on.
