GOT MY WILLIAMS ENGINE IN BUT PROBLEMS ALREADY!

Hi lads got my engine in and everything. Picked it up whilst it still have the full 1.8 16v ECU and standard chip. The car would run ok but sometimes misfire and you could smell petrol. Just put this down to the car running on the original chip.

Picked a GunnerChip up from plattsy on here and a carrier and managed to get it in. Tried starting the car and it needed some revs to start. Then started and was idleing at 3k??? The car does not misfire anymore but idles at 3k? Bit fed up really just want to drive it. What could it be? The chip? Thanks lads, Rob.

mine was the same and we changed the sensor near the air filter (forgot the name sorry) and that sorted the revs out no problem!!

Hi lads think I will try replacing the sensor tommorow if poss then and see if it helps, also car is still misfiring and can smell petrol aswell, would it misfire badly if it was getting too much fuel? Thanks again, Rob.

Yo, the car should run fine on the 1.8 16v ecu.. the mapping is only slightly out, as has been proved on a recent rolling road 2.0l f7r. it made 180 bhp with valver ecu, once mapped it gained 10 bhp although it was modded.

it will certainly be a sensor issue.

gunnerchips are only designed to run on the Williams ECU...
so that may well be the culprit.
