    Don't remove.....

    ....teh rubber boots around the steering cloumn/rack joint, otherwise you go through puddles geta torrent of water comming in through the hole, i had 1" of water in my footwell the other day!!

    Indeed they are a bastard to get back in right.

    Also if you remove them, or dont get the rubber donut in its grove right you get a load of engine noise come through aswell.

    I found that out the other day..... pulled up on the dualcarriage way, trying to ram it back in LOL! :P

    So that's how you do it in 'a couple of minutes' - you don't do it properly
